Testimonials

“We are really enjoying the bus trips that Kirsten organises for us each month. We have been to lots of places and have lunch before we head back. We have had new attendees this year. Cheryl was even able to attend Morning Melodies with us in July. David continues to be our bus driver. We have lots of laughs and talk a lot, and we all look forward to the outings. We always have a great day out.”

“I am a part of the falls prevention class. We mostly do chair exercises, focusing on strengthening the core. We also do balance exercises. Even though it is low in numbers, myself and the other participants look forward to coming and feel better when we leave. Cathy is a bright and bubbly instructor that makes the class feel good.”

“Having given up full time employment some years ago, I was looking for somewhere local to do some type of exercise or dance class. When I discovered Burwood Neighbourhood House on the internet, I saw they conducted various classes, and I was pleased to see a new Zumba group starting up.

We have recently gained a new Zumba instructor, Meredith, who is a delightful, bright lady who gives us plenty of variety with her routines, and very kindly overlooks those of us who have "two left feet". We also really like her choice of music.

Apart from the exercise, it has been so nice to meet new people in our local area, and we've all remained friends to this day.

I would recommend people in the area, and beyond, to call in and give Zumba a go!”

Each Monday our meditation group meets and together we do some simple exercises and listen to a meditation CD, which helps to ground us and set us up for the week to come. after this we head over to the cafe for a coffee and a chat. All our welcome at the Monday meditation group and no previous experience is needed, just a will to learn and enjoy yourself.”

“The Scrabble group meet every Wednesday at 10am. This is a regularly attended class by registered members and is both friendly and challenging group. It is a conversational gathering and play always stops for the mid morning cuppa!”
